The Implementation Freelancer

The solo vehicle for execution work — sells delivery skills under own name, project by project
The Implementation Freelancer sells execution rather than knowledge: coding, systems integration, MLOps rollouts, change-management delivery under own name and invoice. Same activity as the Implementation Consultant but solo — maximum micro-freedom, zero firm leverage, long-term asset is a portfolio plus testimonials. It is not the Micro-Founder: the Freelancer builds for someone else's product (client revenue, day rate), the Micro-Founder builds their own (user revenue, recurring SaaS) — though one can convert into the other.
How it earns
Own-invoice day rates (≈€600-1.5k/day for solo coders, €1k-2k/day for solo implementation advisors in DACH); platform routing (Toptal/Malt) or direct contracts; portfolio + testimonials as the compounding asset.
How it fails
Commodity trap — interchangeable execution skills, falling rates, feast-or-famine; charging premium rates for low-quality work during a shortage burns the network for the next cycle.
